HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth sailing team competed in three races over the weekend and secured two top-10 finishes. The Big Green hosted the Hewitt Trophy and came in seventh and a group traveled to MIT for a Coed Showcase where the Big Green finished eighth.

In the Hewitt Trophy hosted by Dartmouth, the division A boat of junior
Noah Simmons and sophomore
Kasey Rhee had the best finish for the Big Green in the Hewitt Trophy, taking second. Dartmouth had 10 top-5 finishes out of the 16 total races including four where they finished first.

Two boats competed in division B for Dartmouth. The Big Green two boat ofÂ
Michael Tellini and
Josh Cherner placed 11th with 163 points, while the Big Green one boat of
Ryan Goldstein,
Christopher Cheng and
Annika Rogers came in 14th with 180 points. All together Dartmouth tallied 422 points for a seventh-place overall finish.

In the Coed Showcase hosted by MIT in Cambridge, the team of seniors
Christopher Williford,
Rebecca McElvain and sophomores
Timothy Greenhouse,
Max Clapp and
Eloise Burn finished eighth out of 18 teams with a total of 259 points. Teams battled light winds at 3-7 knots. The Division A boat came away with four top-5 finishes including three where they took the top spot for a total of 129 points. The division B boat was consistent with four top-5 finishes as well and finished with 130 points. Â Â

Dartmouth is back in action next weekend for three scheduled events: The Captain Hurst Bowl hosted by the Big Green and two women's showcases at Brown and Colby College.
