THIS WEEKEND
•   The Dartmouth men's hockey team plays just one game this week, taking on Boston University Friday night at Agganis Arena.
•   Puck drop between the old ECAC foes is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
•   The Big Green dropped both games last weekend in the first-ever home-and-home series with New Hampshire.
•   Dartmouth had a few bad bounces go their way in Friday's 3-2 loss in Hanover, before a bad start to Saturday's game in Durham eventually led to a 4-0 defeat.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
•   After an 0-4-1 start to the season, BU has begun to dig itself out of the early hole and is currently 5-8-2 overall. Much of that success can be attributed to finding its footing in Hockey East games as the team is 5-5-2 in conference play.
•   However, like Dartmouth, the Terriers are just 1-3-1 in their last five, including a 0-0 tie with rival Boston College, the first scoreless draw between the two programs in 279 all-time games dating back to 1978.
•   Nashville draft pick and junior defenseman Dante Fabbro leads the team with 13 points and 10 assists. Senior Bobo Carpenter's nine goals are the most of any player on the roster, while his 12 points is second.
•   Goaltender Jake Oettinger is the goalie of record in all 15 games and boasts a 2.70 goals against average and .920 save percentage to go along with his one shutout of BC.
AGAINST BU
•   Friday will mark the 78th all-time meeting between the Big Green and the Terriers dating back to the first matchup back on Feb. 2, 1934, a 7-3 Dartmouth win on Occom Pond.
•   The Big Green are currently on a three-game win streak against BU dating back to Jan. 15, 2008. Interestingly enough, that game 10 years ago was the last time an opponent went unpenalized against the Green and White and, despite that, Dartmouth still came away 3-2 winners.
•   In the last meeting between the two teams back on Nov. 30, 2014, the Terriers came to Hanover as the No. 1 team in the country with a 9-2-1 record and future Hobey Baker Winner Jack Eichel in tow. Thanks to two goals from then-junior Brad Schierhorn '16 in a span of 5:01 in the second period and a 23-save shutout from classmate James Kruger, Dartmouth earned its first win over a No. 1 team in a dozen years (5-4 OT win vs. BC on Nov. 26, 2002). BU would go on to play for the national championship that season.

GAUDET VS. THE TERRIERS
•   Koenig Family Head Coach
Bob Gaudet '81 is in the middle of his 22nd season behind the bench of his alma mater and is setting new ECAC hockey and Dartmouth coaching records in the process.
•   However, some people might tend to forget that Gaudet was one of the best netminders in program history before his time on the bench.
Gaudet was the goalie of record in three games against BU during his time with the Big Green.
•   In those games, Gaudet was just 1-2-0. But that one win was a 29-save performance in the 1979 ECAC semifinals in the Boston Garden, helping his team to a 5-3 triumph and a berth in the league championship game. Earlier in the season, he stopped 39 in a 6-4 Dartmouth loss at Walter Brown Arena. In both games, he outplayed BU netminder Jim Craig (39-35, 29-28), who would go on to lead the United States to a gold medal in Lake Placid in the 'Miracle on Ice.'
HOME AND AWAY
•   The game in Boston marks just the fourth road game of the season for the Green. The three road games to this point are the fewest of any team in Division I with Cornell and Harvard each playing four.
•   Dartmouth is 1-2-0 away from Hanover this season with losses at Brown and UNH and a 3-0 shutout win at Yale.
•   Despite the fact that the PK ranks last in the nation, the Big Green are a perfect 8-for-8 on the kill in those three road games, making them the only team not to allow a power-play marker in such contests this season.
HOME COOKING FOR THE GOOD DOCTOR
•   Freshman
Drew O'Connor is tied for the team lead in goals with five.
•   All five of those scores have come at Thompson Arena this season with the most recent tally finding the back of the net last Friday against UNH.
•   If that isn't odd enough, four of those five home tallies have come in the second period with the other coming in the first period of the Vermont game.
SHOOT LESS!
•   Dartmouth is 3-0-0 when outshot and 1-5-1 when outshooting opponents.
•   The Big Green outshot the Wildcats, 28-16 and 30-27, last weekend and lost both games.
•   When registering more than 30 shots on goal this season, the team is 0-4-1, while 4-1-0 when firing 29 or fewer pucks on net.
THAT PENALTY WILL BE DECLINED
•   Dartmouth is 1-4-1 when having more power plays than opponents this season and 3-1-0 when the opposition has more man-advantages.
•   Since scoring twice on the power play in a 5-1 win over Quinnipiac on Nov. 3, the extra-skater opportunity has not been friendly to the Big Green.
•   Dartmouth is 0-for-its-last-28 with the power play, a stark contrast from the 5-for-12 start (41.7%) that had the team third in the nation prior to the current slump.
GOTTA GET UP FOR EVERY GAME
•   Dartmouth is 4-0 against teams above .500 and 0-5-1 against teams below .500.
•   The Green and White have wins over then-No. 15 Quinnipiac, then-No. 16 Cornell, Harvard and at Yale, the last two of which were receiving votes at the time of the game.
100 GAMES PLAYED
•   Teammates
Alex Jasiek and
Connor Yau became the 102nd and 103rd players, respectively, to suit up for their 100th career games in a Dartmouth uniform last Friday against UNH.
•   Classmate
Carl Hesler reached the figure against Vermont last month, while senior
Kevan Kilistoff is slated to hit the milestone figure on Jan. 5 at Bentley if he were to play in all the team's scheduled games.
THE INFAMOUS PENULTIMATE WINTER BREAK GAME!
•   For the second straight year, Dartmouth's penultimate game before the mid-season break ended in a shutout road loss.
•   Last season, the Big Green were defeated, 1-0, on the road at No. 2 Denver. The good news? The team bounced back to win the final game of the first half, 5-4, thanks to a remarkable comeback that erased a 3-0 first-period deficit.
LAST GAME
•   Since 2010-11, Dartmouth is 5-3 in the final game of the first half of the season.
•   The team is 2-0 in each of the last two years with wins at Denver (5-4) and at home against UNH (5-1), scoring five goals in each.
MIXING UP THE LINES A BIT
•   For the first time since early last December, the Timber Line of
Shane Sellar,
Will Graber and
Quin Foreman did not play together in Friday's loss to UNH.
•   However, in swapping Sellar and O'Connor on the left side of the top two lines, it proved to beneficial for both parties as the two scored both of Dartmouth's goals in the game.
•   For Sellar, the first-period tally snapped a seven-game drought without a goal after scoring twice in the season opener against Harvard.
THE 19TH
•   For the first time all season, the Big Green coaching staff did not use the added 19th skater position to dress a seventh defenseman on Saturday.
•  Â
Matt Baker dressed as an extra forward after the coaches used a seventh defenseman for the first nine games of the year.
CHaD VISIT
•   On Monday, the team visited the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) to deliver toys donated during the team's annual toy drive.
•   For more information about the visit, please see the link in the tweet below.

•   Postseason games will also be carried on ESPN+ in 2018-19 and will not need subscribers to pay any additional fees to watch the league's postseason.
