SATURDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team hosts Yale in the final regular season Ivy League home game of the 2018 campaign Saturday at Scully-Fahey Field.
LAST TIME OUT
• Dartmouth cruised to a 16-5 win Wednesday over visiting Vermont.
• 10 players combined to score 16 goals with Kellen D'Alleva and Michelle Yu coming off the bench to notch hat tricks and set career highs in the game.
• The home team raced out to a 13-0 lead before Vermont scored in the final minute of the first half. Once the Green and White took a 10-goal lead with 12:55 to play in the opening frame, they never let the lead drop back to single digits and the clock ran unstopped for the final 40-plus minutes of action.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
• Yale comes to Hanover with a 7-6 overall mark, but just a 2-3 record in Ivy League play this season.
• The Bulldogs are one of three teams tied for the final spot in the standings, trying to secure a berth in the upcoming Ivy League Tournament. Yale, Columbia and Cornell are all 2-3 in conference action with the Big Red holding the tiebreaker thanks to both wins coming against the Lions and Bulldogs.
• Yale has lost five of its last six with a 13-12 non-conference victory against Marist the only win in that time.
• Senior Emily Granger leads the team with 31 points and 11 assists. Her 20 goals are tied for the Bulldog lead along with sophomore Barrett Carlson who is second on the team in scoring with 26 points.
• In goal, Sydney Marks has played all 795 minutes and has an 11.56 goals against average and .435 save percentage.
AGAINST YALE
• Dartmouth has won 26 of the 40 all-time meetings between the two programs.
• Last year's game was delayed more than two hours early in the second half due to a scoreboard malfunction, but the Big Green came out of the locker room and turned an 8-7 deficit at that point into a one-goal win, 12-11.
• From the opening draw to the final whistle, the game took four hours and 39 minutes to complete.
• Kathryn Giroux and Courtney Weisse each had three goals in the win.
TWO OF THE BEST
• Saturday will mark a battle between two of the all-time best Ivy League players in regards to draw controls: Dartmouth's Kathryn Giroux and Yale's Izzy Nixon.
• Giroux now has 204 for her career and 79 this season, the third-best single-season mark in Dartmouth history. She posted 108 last season, a then-Ivy League standard.
• Nixon has since broken Giroux's mark as she has 115 this season. She currently has 196 for her career.
• Giroux picked up nine draws against the Catamounts on Wednesday, making her just the third player in Ivy League history to reach 200 in her career, joining Yale's Nicole Daniggelis (295) and Brown's Grace Healy (229).
• Last season in New Haven, Giroux outplayed Nixon in the circle, collecting 10 to her Bulldog counterpart's seven.
SENIOR DAY!
• Following Saturday's game, head coach Danielle Spencer along with assistants Nicole Price and Nicole Flores will honor six members of the Class of 2018: Larson Bennett, Ellie Bennett, Elizabeth Jacobs, Sophie Davidson, Katie O'Neill and Cara DePippo.
