HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth field hockey team was picked seventh in the 2018 Ivy League Preseason Poll announced Tuesday afternoon.
Â
The poll was conducted by a contingent of 16 from across the Ivy League.
Â
Once again, Princeton was picked No. 1 as they have won the league title nine times in the last 10 years, while Harvard — last season's runner-up at 6-1 — was picked second and earned two first-place votes.
Â
The Big Green will look to build on a 2-5 mark in league play from a year ago to make a jump in the standings.
Â
The 2018 campaign gets underway Friday in Iowa against the 20th-ranked Hawkeyes, while the Ivy slate kicks off Sept. 22 at Princeton. Dartmouth's Ivy opener is the following week (Sept. 29) against Brown at noon.
Â
All Big Green field hockey home games and Ivy League road games will be carried on ESPN+ this season.
