HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's hockey was picked to finish 11th in the 2018-19 ECAC Hockey Preseason Women's Coaches Poll, which was released by the league office on Wednesday.
Defending national champion Clarkson received all but one of the 12 first-place votes to sit atop the poll, followed by Colgate, which fell to the Golden Knights in overtime in the national championship game last season, with one.
The team is made up of 18 returnees (six seniors, five juniors, seven sophomores) and eight newcomers. Making their collegiate debuts this season are Taylor Stadeli, Givanna Foglia, Sara McClanahan, Gabby Billing, Brooke Schroeder, Jess Forcey, Lotti Odnoga and Chloé Puddifant.
Head coach Laura Schuler is back for her second season at the helm after spending 2017-18 coaching the Canadian Women's Olympic Hockey Team to a silver medal at the Olympic Games in PyeongChang. Joining her behind the bench are Chris Cobb, who is entering his third year at Dartmouth, and Morgan Illikainen '15, who is in her second year.
The Big Green will first take to the ice on Oct. 5 with a home scrimmage against the CWHL's Vanke Rays before hosting their annual exhibition game against McGill on Oct. 14. The season will officially begin on Oct. 19 at Harvard.
