THIS WEEKEND
After a weekend trip to the Pacific Northwest, the Big Green are back home this weekend to face two familiar opponents hailing from the Boston area. Dartmouth first takes on Northeastern at 5 p.m. at Burnham Field, the Green and White then welcome Boston University to Hanover on Sunday for a 1 p.m. start time.Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green traveled to the Beaver State where they faced two Pac-12 opponents. Dartmouth first fell 2-0 to Oregon, they then took Oregon State to overtime where Dartmouth lost 1-0 in an evenly matched game. Sophomore goalkeeper
Mariel Gordon set a season high with six saves against the Beavers.Â
SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN
The Huskies are coming into Friday's matchup with a 2-5-0 record. They defeated UConn 2-0 in their season opener and defeated Boston University 3-2 in overtime on August 30. All five of the Huskies losses are by one goal. Northeastern is led by Hannah Rosenblatt who has two goals, Mikenna McManus already has four assists this season.
AGAINST THE HUSKIES
Dartmouth and Northeastern have met five times with the Big Green winning the first four matchups. In the meeting in 2014, Dartmouth won 1-0 in double overtime. Northeastern beat Dartmouth for the first time last season by a score of 3-1 in Brookline.
SCOUTING BOSTON UNIVERSITY
The Terriers started the season by dropping their first five games. They finally got in the win column on Sept. 2 with a home victory against UConn. BU plays Boston College on Thursday night before they head to Hanover. Anna Heilferty leads the Terriers with two goals.
AGAINST THE TERRIERSÂ
It has been a tightly contested all-time series between Dartmouth and Boston University. BU has a slight edge with a record of 8-7-5 over the Big Green and have had recent success, winning the last two meetings. Dartmouth got a signature win over the Terriers in 2005 winning 1-0 at home when BU was ranked No. 10 in the country.
EVEN SPREAD
Zoe Enright,
Remy Borinsky and
Tracey Mills have the three goals this season, while
Lorna MacFarlane and
Hayley Soriano each have assists for the Big Green. Borinsky's goal was scored on a penalty kick in the season opening win over Quinnipiac.
HOME SWEET HOME
This weekend marks the second and third home games this season for the Big Green who are 1-0 at Burnham Field. Dartmouth is 1-2 away from Hanover in 2018.
