HANOVER, N.H. – Two Big Green goals sent the match into double overtime, but it was not enough as the Dartmouth women's soccer team fell to Northeastern, 3-2, Friday night at Burnham Field.

Dartmouth (2-3-0) was outshot, 23-15, by the Huskies (3-4-0), although each teams' shots on goal were even with eight. Both sides finished with nine corner kicks as well. sophomore goalkeeper
Mariel Gordon registered a season high eight saves.

Northeastern broke out to a fast start scoring its two goals early and often. Chelsea Domond found the back of the net first in the 20th minute off an assist from Mikenna McManus. It took less than three minutes for the Huskies to score again as Hannah Rosenblatt put a charge past the keeper to make it a 2-0 advantage for Northeastern in the 23rd minute.

As time in the first half was winding down, Dartmouth cut the Northeastern lead in half in the 41st minute.
Chloe Conacher found the net for the first time this season off an assist from
Lorna MacFarlane to make it 2-1 heading into the locker room.

The Big Green came back on the field with energy after the break and were able to tie things up.
Erin Kawakami took the double assist from
Remy Borinsky and
Lauren Lucas and sneaked one past the keeper to tie the game at two and eventually send it to overtime.

Gordon came away with two diving stops to keep it tied toward the end of regulation and in overtime. Northeastern capitalized in the 107th minute when Kerri Zefross scored to win the game for the Huskies.

"I am proud of the way that we responded after going down early like we did, said head coach
Ron Rainey. "We worked our way back into the game, now we need to work on how to pull off these close ones."

Dartmouth has a quick turnaround as they are back at Burnham Field on Sunday to take on Boston University at 1 p.m.
