IVY HOME OPENER / FREE BACON AND ICE CREAM DAY
Dartmouth hosts the two-time defending Ivy League champion Princeton Tigers Saturday afternoon. Princeton was chosen to win the conference in the preseason poll and has played a difficult schedule so far this season. There will also be free bacon and ice cream for all fans.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Big Green took on Brown on the road Saturday night and battled, but ended up falling to the Bears, 2-1.
- The loss snapped a five-game shutout streak for Dartmouth, which was the longest streak since the 2006 team had a clean sheet in nine consecutive matches.
- Brown struck first in the sixth minute after a free kick set the ball free in front of the Big Green net, allowing Abby Carchio to score.
- Erin Kawakami evened the score at one in the 35th minute on a deep shot from straight on off an assist from Izzy Glennon.
- The Bears sent home the game winner in the 56th minute on a goal by Star White after a corner kick.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
- The Tigers have played a strong schedule and enter Saturday's contest with a 3-4-2 record.
- Princeton tied No. 21 Rutgers (0-0) and took No. 15 Georgetown to overtime but fell (4-3). They also tied Villanova (2-2).
- The Tigers fell, 1-0, to Yale in their Ivy opener at home last Saturday.
- Despite the difficult schedule, Princeton is even in scoring with its opponents (12-12).
- Courtney O'Brien leads the team with four goals, while Grace Sherman has three.
- Five other players have one goal.
- Marissa Hart leads the way with three assists and Gabi Juarez has two.
- Goalkeeper Natalie Grossi has played every minute for the Tigers and has 35 saves with four shutouts.
ALL-TIME AGAINST THE TIGERS
- Princeton is in charge of the all-time series with a 20-16-3 record.
- The Big Green have not beaten the Tigers since 2013, a 2-0 victory at home.
- Dartmouth's longest winning streak against Princeton was eight games from 1991-1998.
- These two teams played to a scoreless draw last season in Princeton. Mariel Gordon finished with a career high nine saves in the match, while Tigers goalkeeper Grossi had one save.
