Marial Gordon finished with eight saves
HANOVER, N.H. –Princeton scored four minutes into overtime to sneak by Dartmouth, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Burnham Field.
The Big Green fall to 7-3-0 and 0-2-0 in the Ivy League, while the Tigers improve to 4-4-2 and 1-1-0 in conference. Princeton goalkeeper Natalie Grossi passed Dartmouth's Kristin Luckenbill '01 as the Ivy League's all-time career leader in shutouts for men and women with 30.  Â
"We battled and fought hard to take Princeton into overtime," said head coach Ron Rainey. "Hats off to them for their goal to win it. Now we have to get back on track and prepare for our next game on Tuesday."
Mariel Gordon was up to the task against an attacking Princeton offense. The junior goalkeeper finished with eight saves. She had four in the first half, three in the second and one in overtime.
The Tigers controlled the possession in the first half with 10 shots compared to three for the Big Green.
Dartmouth came alive in the late minutes of the second. The Big Green had five of the final seven shots of the game, with Allie Winstanley responsible for three of them, but Dartmouth could not find the back of the net.
Princeton scored in the 94th minute when Tatum Gee sent a cross to Olivia Kane, who headed home the winner.
The Big Green are back in action on Tuesday at 4 p.m. for a non-conference contest at Merrimack. Â
