HARTFORD, Conn. – Matt Giegerich is the last man standing for the Big Green in 2019 and he came away with a 3-0 sweep in the semifinals over Harvard's Julien Gosset in the East Division Bracket of the Malloy Cup to advance to the final. Gosset was a big part of the Crimson's undefeated season and No. 1 ranking.

Giegerich dominated the first game, taking it 11-3, he then battled for a 12-10 victory in the second game to go ahead 2-0. The third game was tough, but Giegerich won 11-8 to advance to the finals.

Giegerich will take on Charles Culhane from Cornell in the finals. Culhane got this far by defeating Phillip Demeulenaere of Brown, John Fitzgerald from Williams and Virginia's Patrick McElroy.

The finals match is scheduled for Sunday at 11 a.m. in Hartford, Conn.
