HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis head coach
Bob Dallis has announced the 2018-19 team award. Four players were recognized for their performances throughout the season.
Junior
Racquel Lyn was named the team's Most Valuable Player and shared the Most Improved Player award with freshman
Nina Paripovic.
Lyn started the second half of the season playing at the No. 2 position in singles, but soon moved up to the top spot, which is where she stayed for the last nine matches of the year. She fared well against Ivy League opponents, going 3-2 and defeating players from Princeton, Brown and Cornell. She was named first team All-Ivy for singles at the conclusion of the season.
Paripovic played at a lot of different positions but settled into the No. 2 and 3 spots early into the spring. In doubles, she and senior
Allison Chuang wrapped up 2018-19 on a two-match winning streak, taking down opponents from Columbia and Cornell.
The Class of 1985 Spirit Award was shared by Chuang and junior
Allison McCann. The award is given to the player(s) who best embodies the values of Dartmouth women's tennis.
Chuang ended her senior season on a high note, defeating a player from Cornell in the final match of the season. McCann went 4-6 overall in 2018-19 at the No. 5 or 6 singles.
In addition to the team awards, Lyn and McCann were named captains for the 2019-20 season, which is the 48th team in the history of Dartmouth women's tennis.
