COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has named the Dartmouth men's and women's swimming and diving teams to its Scholar All-America team for the Spring 2019 term.
Â
A record 480 institutions were named to the list. Five conferences – the A-10, Ivy League, Colonial Athletic Association, Mid-American and the Big XII – placed every men's and women's team onto the honor roll.
Â
Both Big Green programs saw a GPA increase from last spring; the men's squad had a 3.49 and the women had 3.50. At 3.45, the median grade point average among women's teams was the highest on record. The men's median (3.23) was down slightly from the Fall term.
Â
CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart noted: "Coach Jamie Holder has revitalized the program in and out of the pool. It has been an exciting transformation to watch."
Â
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA – the first organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
Â
The award, which is presented twice throughout the year, is awarded to teams nationwide that have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
