HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's swimming and diving won the Tate Ramsden Invitational on Saturday evening, defeating UMass, 189-136, at Karl Michael Pool.
The second day of the meet was highlighted by
Christina Cianciolo breaking the pool record in the 1650 free (17:03.00) by over four seconds.
Alie Hunter was first in the 400 IM (4:35.45), out-touching a Dutchwoman by four-tenths of a second.
Leah Johnson also ended up in scoring position (4:42.09). The Big Green took the top three spots in the 100 fly, being led by
Ashley Post (57.34).
Eleanor Zwart was second (57.85) and
Katherine Cane took third (58.71).
First through fifth in the 200 free went to Dartmouth;
Mia Leko was first (1:53.20) and she was followed by
Sophie Smith (1:55.43),
Bridget Parker (1:55.69),
Summer Martin (1:56.62) and Cianciolo (1:56.96). In the 100 breast,
Kenna Van Steyn won in 1:06.86, while
Maggie Deppe-Walker took third (1:09.01).
The Green had another good showing in the 100 back: Zwart touched in first place (58.23), while
Susannah Laster (59.04),
Connie Zhang (59.97) and
Kaia Reznicek (1:00.18) took second through fourth. To end the second session, Dartmouth placed first and second in the 200 medley relay with times of 1:48.73 and 1:49.30.
On the 3-meter diving board,
Maggie Pionzio was second (263.10) and
Isabella Lichen took fourth (235.20), earning a combined six points. On 1-meter, Pionzio finished in second place again (243.59), while Lichen moved up to finish in third (221.09).
In the 200 back, Zhang touched second (2:08.53), while
Sarah Finlay also had a few points by taking fourth (2:09.19). Dartmouth placed first through fifth in the 50 free: Smith was first (52.24) and was followed by Post (52.34), Martin (53.28), Zwart (53.29) and Reznicek (53.33). Van Steyn and Deppe-Walker were second and third in the 200 breast (2:26.44, 2:30.13).
Leko was first in the 200 fly (2:06.10), while Hunter squeaked into third (2:10.11), beating a UMass swimmer to the wall by five-tenths. To end the weekend, Dartmouth's B relay won the 400 free relay (3:33.20), while A touched half a second later (3:33.72).
Next Saturday, the Big Green will travel to New York to swim one last Ivy meet against Columbia.
