HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis head coach
Bob Dallis has announced the 2019-20 team awards.
For the second year in a row,
Racquel Lyn was named the Most Valuable Player. She also shared the Class of '85 Spirit Award with fellow senior
Allison McCann, who received the award last year.
Lyn ended her career by going 3-7 in tournament play, 2-4 in dual matches and 12-5 in doubles. After returning to the court in January, she played all but one of her matches at the No. 2 position, defeating players from Brown and Michigan State. She played all of her doubles matches in 2020 with McCann and the two ended the season on a four-match winning streak.
McCann went 11-6 overall as a senior and was a force during tournament play, going 8-4. She also went 14-5 in doubles. In dual matches, she played at the No. 5 or 6 positions, ending on a high note with her win over a player from Boston University. From January onwards, she went 9-2 in doubles, playing at either the No. 2 or 3 spots.
During her final season,
Catherine Cable was named the Most Improved Player. Having dealt with injuries a few times throughout her career, she came back as a senior healthy and ready to play, going 11-10 in singles and 9-7 in doubles.
