HANOVER, N.H. — After a year off from competition, and much anticipation, the Dartmouth equestrian team won the first meet of the year.

The meet was hosted at Dartmouth's riding center, Morton Farm. The Big Green competed against the University of New Hampshire, University of Vermont, University of Maine, University of New England, Colby-Sawyer College, and Northeastern University.

The Big Green finished on top with a team score of 36 points.

Dartmouth started the day off with sophomore
Rachel Freer and senior
Tori Bergstein earning second-place finishes in both intermediate flat classes.

In the first jumping class of the day, Open Fences, freshman
Chloe Terestchenko galloped around the technical jump course with ease, finding all the inside turns, for a first-place finish. Terestchenko went back in for the open flat and secured another blue ribbon, earning another seven points for the team. With two first-place finishes, Terestchenko was named the High Point Rider of the competition.

Freshman
Grace Silverman also pulled off a win in the pre-novice division in her first collegiate competition. The win came at a crucial point in the meet to push the Big Green into the lead. Junior
Kate Kucharczuk secured the team win with a second-place finish in the introductory division.
