PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Big Green competed in one regatta this past weekend. The team sailed at the Coed ACC Round 1A qualifier hosted by Brown. Dartmouth finished sixth out of 18 teams. Their finish was enough to qualify them for the Atlantic Coast Championship that will be hosted at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
Dartmouth sailed two teams at the event. Sailing in the A division were junior Boyd Bragg and senior Eloise Burn. Sailing in the B division were freshman Reese Bragg and junior James Paul. Also contributing to the sixth-place finish were senior Aisling Sullivan, junior Christopher Long and freshman Will Michels.
Nine of the 18 teams who competed in the event qualified for the Atlantic Coast Championship. The Big Green earned 283 points to get their sixth-place finish. Brown finished in first with 204 points, Stanford in second with 227 points and Navy in third with 241 points.
Dartmouth returns to action next weekend. They will host the Captain Hurst Bowl and sail in the SA Women's Atlantic Coast Championship and the NE Match Race Championship.
