Sailing Competes in Two Regattas and Hosts 30th Captain Hurst Bowl

Women's Atlantic Coast Championship 30th Captain Hurst Bowl

HANOVER, N.H. — The Big Green competed in two regattas this past weekend. They hosted the 30th Captain Hurst Bowl at Lake Mascoma and competed at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship which was hosted by Harvard. They finished 3rd out of 18 at the Women's Champioship and 5th out of 15 at the Captain Hurst Bowl.

At the Captain Hurst Bowl, Dartmouth finished fifth with 256 points. Stanford, Tufts and Yale finished first, second and third with 195, 220 and 221 points, respectively. Sailing in the event for the Big Green was junior Drew Clutterbuck, sophomore Taylor Eastman, senior Maddie Sharp, freshman Oliver Hurwitz, senior Ryan Goldstein and freshman Will Michels.

At the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship, the Big Green earned 229 points for a third-place finish. Yale placed first with 193 points and Brown finished second with 209 points. Competing for Dartmouth were sophomore Maddie Hawkins, senior Carlota Hopkins Guerra, junior Payton Thompson, junior Eliza Crocker, sophomore Yumi Yoshiyasu and freshman Gray Hemans.

The team is back on the water next weekend. Their schedule includes the Coed Atlantic Coast Championship, an event at Yale and the Oberg Trophy hosted by MIT.
