Both sides fought to a stalemate in the first half and after 45 minutes of play the score was tied 0-0. Dartmouth (1-8, 0-2) trailed Yale (4-4-2, 1-0-1) two shots to one and Budnik made two saves in the first. Neither side managed to create any serious scoring chances and each side had one corner kick apiece.
The second half started similarly to the first. Both sides went back and forth, and each team had one shot on goal until the Bulldogs broke through in the 78th minute. The ball bounced around the box until it was finally put past Budnik. Moments later Yale scored again, and the score was 2-0 with six minutes remaining in the game.
Dartmouth returns to action when they travel to Philadelphia, Pa., for a 5 p.m. game against Penn, next Saturday.
