THIS WEEKEND
The Big Green women's basketball team will be home for their penultimate game of 2021 on Saturday, when they host Manhattan at 2:00 p.m. The men will follow against Boston University at 6:30.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth suffered a 64-46 loss to Vermont at Patrick Gymnasium in front of a great crowd on Wednesday evening.
· Hometown hero
Mekkena Boyd had a season-best three treys to lead with 11 points.
·
Carrington Washburn and
Mia Curtis both had a personal best seven rebounds.
·
Victoria Page not one but two 3-pointers, the first of her career.
· The Big Green played best in the second quarter, scoring the first five points to get within 10. What was a 15-point lead for the Catamounts was soon cut to six after Page's second trey (28-22). Having been kept off the board for over four minutes, Vermont came back hard with their 12-2 run.
SCOUTING THE JASPERS
Another interesting mascot. What is a Jasper, you may ask? A native of Ireland, Brother Jasper arrived at Manhattan College in the 1860s. He was the first athletic director of the college, and brought the then little-known sport of baseball there, becoming the team's first head coach.
Manhattan will arrive in Hanover for its third of five straight road games that will span almost the entire month of December. Since heading out, the Jaspers have gone 0-2, dropping close ones to Wagner (54-50) and Fordham (65-63).
LAST TIME VS. MANHATTAN
On Dec. 1, 2019, even though the Big Green closed the gap to three points midway through the fourth quarter, the Jaspers finished the game on a big run to hold on a capture the win, 70-58.
Anna Luce '21 led Dartmouth in scoring with 16 points and swiped a career-high five steals. Anne McKenna '19 finished with 11 points, a personal best eight rebounds and five assists, and
Katie Douglas was in double figures with 10 points.
Manhattan had four players with double-digit points, led by Sydney Watkins with 20.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Warmer weather, here we come. The Green will head to the Lone Star State over the weekend to play a pair of games against UT San Antonio (Dec. 13) and Texas State (Dec. 16) while soaking up some Vitamin D. From there, the team will head right for not-so-warm weather when it takes on Maine on the 19th.
