SCOUTING THE JASPERS
Another interesting mascot. What is a Jasper, you may ask? A native of Ireland, Brother Jasper arrived at Manhattan College in the 1860s. He was the first athletic director of the college, and brought the then little-known sport of baseball there, becoming the team's first head coach.
Â
Manhattan will arrive in Hanover for its third of five straight road games that will span almost the entire month of December. Since heading out, the Jaspers have gone 0-2, dropping close ones to Wagner (54-50) and Fordham (65-63).
