Dartmouth (0-8) at Vermont (5-4)
Tied at 2-2 after a Boyd jumper, the Catamounts went on an 11-2 run over the next four minutes to make it a 13-4 game. A career-first trey by
Victoria Page and a Curtis shot from the line got Dartmouth close to double digits, but Vermont kept hitting threes to maintain some distance (19-9) late in the first. The Catamounts ended the quarter on a 5-0 run (24-9).
The Green came out strong in the second, scoring the first five points off a Washburn driving layup and
Allie Harland's 3-pointer (24-14). Even when Vermont got on the board 90 seconds in, Dartmouth had the second-quarter advantage (10-4) after Boyd's three and free throws from Page and
Grace Niekelski. What was a 15-point lead after the first 10 minutes was cut to six after another 3-pointer by Page halfway through (28-22). Having been kept off the board for over four minutes, the Catamounts came back hard with their 12-2 run over the final four minutes (40-24).
Dartmouth had a slight 7-5 advantage over the first three minutes of the third, led by another Boyd 3-pointer (45-31). After four Vermont points and a
Rosie Jennings bucket at the midway point, neither team could get past defense to score for almost three minutes until the Catamounts ended the draught with a 3-pointer (52-35).
Boyd's third trifecta kicked off the fourth quarter 20 seconds in, helping Dartmouth keep points even at 5-5 with 5:00 to go. Jennings added two good foul shots and Page had a shot from the line to get within 16. The Green were kept off the board until a three at the buzzer by Jennings (64-46).
Dartmouth will be home on Saturday, Dec. 11 when it hosts Manhattan at 2 p.m. After that: Texas, here we come.
