A mix of intercollegiate and intrasquad events on tap
HANOVER, N.H. — Starting with the 20-6 victory for men's lacrosse last night in a scrimmage at St. Anselm, Dartmouth Big Green teams are competing for the second straight week following more than a year on the sidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of these events are intercollegiate competitions, others are intrasquad scrimmages, but all participants are relieved to be competing once again.
A reminder to all fans that spectators will not be permitted in or around any athletic venue hosting an event, and tailgating at any events is prohibited.
First up will be the softball team at Boston College this afternoon at 4 p.m. Dartmouth split a doubleheader at UMass on Saturday, beating the Minutewomen for the first time ever, 6-2, in the opener before falling in a wild 15-13 slugfest in the nightcap. The 13 runs and 17 hits in the second game were the most for the team since a 16-1 triumph at Cornell on April 20, 2019. Fans can keep up with the action via live stats or the video stream on ACC NetworkX, available through the ESPN app to those with a cable subscription that carries the network.
The women's lacrosse team will also be in action today, hosting St. Michael's in a scrimmage at 6:30 p.m. Head coach Alex Frank's team fell on Saturday in its return to action against Tufts, 11-5, as five different players scored for the Big Green. Neither live stats nor a video stream will be available for the scrimmage.
On Saturday, the men's tennis team will host Williams College at 1 p.m. on the Thompson Courts. The No. 1 singles match will be streamed live on ESPN+ while the remainder of the matches will be available for viewing on the Playsight website. Dartmouth will also have a pair of intrasquad events that afternoon as women's lacrosse plays its Green and White game at 2 p.m., and men's and women's track and field will start up at 2:30 on the Memorial Field track following their dual meet at New Hampshire (men/women) last weekend. The lacrosse game will be streamed live on the team's Facebook page, and results from track and field will be available on the Dartmouth website that evening.
In addition, the women's rowing team will compete for the first time this year on Saturday morning on the Charles River against UMass, Boston University and host Boston College. Live timing is available for fans to keep up with the races.
Check the DartmouthSports.com website for the latest up-to-date information on each of these events and future ones as well.
