Field Hockey Picked to Finish Eighth in Ivy League Preseason Poll

HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth field hockey was picked to finish eighth in the Ivy League's preseason poll, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Coming in at the top was Princeton – who has won the league title 10 times in the last 11 years – with 13 first-place votes, while 2019 champion Harvard was second with the remaining three votes.

Hired in February of 2020 as the Big Green's fifth head coach in program history, Mark Egner has yet to coach his first game due to the pandemic, which canceled his first season at the helm.

After 19 months of waiting, Egner will finally get that chance when the team opens the 2021 season on the West Coast against UC Davis (Sept. 3), California (Sept. 5) and Stanford (Sept. 6).

Dartmouth's home opener against Central Michigan (Sept. 10) will be its first of four straight that will take place at Chase Field over the following nine days.
