THIS WEEKEND
Dartmouth women's rugby is on the road for two weekends in a row, starting with ever-tough Quinnipiac on Saturday, Sept. 11.
LAST TIME OUT
Twenty-two months after last competing, the Dartmouth women's rugby team returned to Brophy Field last Wednesday, defeating LIU in the Sharks' first varsity match by a score of 92-5.
Ten different players had a hand in the 13 Big Green tries, with
Emily Henrich,
Lilly Durbin and Margot Généreux all scoring twice.
Abbey Savin was key in her first collegiate game, going 11-for-12 on conversions and adding a penalty kick to end the game with a team-leading 25 points.
Dartmouth took a 54-0 advantage into the intermission and had a 78-0 lead before LIU was able to break through and get on the board when the Green was a man down due to a yellow card. The home team added two more tries before the game was done.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Quinnipiac kicked off its season on the road over the weekend with a 48-24 victory over Sacred Heart. After the first half, the visitors already had a 31-3 lead and held on through a little bit of a Pioneer comeback in the second to win the season opener for both squads.
LAST TIME AGAINST QUINNIPIAC
On Oct. 12, 2019, the Big Green had a dominant 52-38 win over the Bobcats on Senior Day.
Five players scored their first tries of the season, and the team was led by
