PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Dartmouth kicked off the 2021 season with three regattas this past weekend. The Big Green raced ten boats in the Bears Invite at Brown and placed four boats in the top five out of 18 boats. They placed 6th out of 18 boats in the Harry Anderson Trophy at Yale and 6th out of 18 boats in the Toni Deutsch '58 Regatta at MIT.

At Brown, Dartmouth swept the podium. First place was taken by
James Paul and
Maya Nguyen, second was
Gray Hemans and
Reese Bragg and the third-place boat was
Oliver Hurwitz and
Eliza Crocker. All seven races at the regatta were won by a Dartmouth boat.

The Big Green placed 6 out of 18 in the Harry Anderson Trophy at Yale. Sailing in the A division were
Boyd Bragg, Chris Long and
Eloise Burn. Sailing in the B division were
Maddie Hawkins,
Ryan Goldstein and
Yumi Yoshiyasu. Dartmouth finished with a total of 208 points. Yale finished in first with 98 points, Brown in second with 152 points and Harvard in third with 158 points. The Big Green were just two points shy of a top five finish.

At the Toni Deutsch '58 Regatta, Dartmouth was sixth of 18 teams, finishing with a total of 212 points. Sailing for the Big Green in the A division were
Payton Thompson and Carlotta Hopkins Guerra. In the B division were
Taylor Eastman and
Maddie Sharp. First place was MIT with 148 points, second place was Brown with 155 points and third place was Yale with 173 points.

The Big Green are back in action next weekend. The team is schedule to race in the Barnett Trophy at Bowdoin, the Hatch Brown Trophy at MIT, the Regis Trophy at Boston University and the A-men's and A-women's singles in Boston as well.
