To ensure both an effective and student-centered experience the Sexual Violence Prevention Project (SVPP) relies heavily on student feedback from a diverse range of students and research to guide the development and implementation of the SVPP. ACADEMIC SUPPORT
- Upcoming Academic Dates
- January 10: Final day of week 1 schedule adjustment (add/drop). Permission to add courses is not necessary unless normally required.
- January 11 – 17: Second week of winter term schedule adjustment (add/drop). All courses require instructor permission to add.
- January 17: Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Courses regularly held in the 8-, 9-, 10-, 11-, 12-, and 2-sequences moved to their x-periods. Courses held in the 3A-period moved to the 3B-period. Laboratory sections meet as scheduled
- January 18: Final day for electing use of the Non-Recording Option (NRO)
- Win the Winter: Join us this week for Win the Winter, a DP2 Academic Support Workshop on Wednesday, January 12 at 7:00pm on Zoom. Open to all first-year and sophomore student-athletes, Win the Winter will give you an opportunity to reflect with peers about your fall term at Dartmouth, hear from upper-class student-athletes, create an Academic Success Action Plan and connect with campus resources, including the Undergraduate Deans Office and the Academic Skills Center. - Learning in STEM Resource: Dartmouth's Teaching Science Fellows partner with faculty of introductory biology and chemistry classes to make them more accessible to all students, regardless of science background. Beyond academic support, the Teaching Science Fellows (both graduates of Dartmouth College) are here as a resource on how to thrive at Dartmouth—how to study, how to manage your time, and how to make the most of everything available here. This winter, they are working with BIO13 and CHEM5 classes, but are available to work with any student outside of these classes to help them craft their path through Dartmouth. COUNSELING & SPORT PSYCHOLOGY
- Get started with counseling by booking Counseling Triage appointments online through the student heath portal: http://healthservices.dartmouth.edu. Triage appointments are first appointments for individuals who haven't been seen by Dartmouth counselors before to determine what their needs are and get them started.
- Counseling services are available for all enrolled students through the Dartmouth Counseling Center by calling (603) 646-9442 to set up an appointment. Check out our website for apps and other useful resources to support mental health.
- First students: Dartmouth has partnered with Everfi to provide an online course on mental health and wellbeing in college. The modules that make up this course are designed to increase awareness of common stressors that impact student mental health and familiarity with the support resources available to you and your peers as members of the Dartmouth community. LEADERSHIP & MENTAL PERFORMANCE
- DP2's Stephen Gonzalez gives his take on returning to sport after injury in THIS article in The Washington Post.
- Registration Due **January 12th ** for D-LAB (Dartmouth Leadership Attitudes and Behaviors), a 7-week program designed for first-year students to discover the relationship between leadership and their personal values. Participants will engage in in-person activities and small group discussion, facilitated by upper-level students, throughout the winter term. Participants will walk away with new friendships, closer ties to the Dartmouth community, impactful leadership skills, and a greater understanding of how values translate into action. First-year students interested can register here.
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
- Speed Work: At a minimum, rest 10 seconds for every second of high intensity sprinting. For example, sprinting for 4 seconds will require at least 40 seconds for adequate recovery.
