HANOVER, N.H. — Laura Stacey, a member of the Dartmouth Class of 2016 was named to the Team Canada women's hockey roster for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games. She was one of 23 women selected to represent Canada in the upcoming winter games. The roster was announced Tuesday, Jan. 11.
"Our team and program is so proud of Laura and her accomplishments. To make and Olympic team not once, but twice, is an honor that is truly a reflection of commitment, passion and hard work," said head coach
Liz Keady Norton. "Dartmouth is a place where we can tell student athletes they can do it all and Laura is an excellent example of exactly that."
Stacey played four seasons as a member of the Dartmouth women's hockey team. She finished her career with 31 goals and 56 assists for 87 career points. During her career, she was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team, she was named First Team All-Ivy, ECAC Hockey Third Team All-League and was a captain her senior year.
Stacey won a silver medal in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games with Team Canada and won a gold medal as a member of the 2021 Canada world championship team. Team Canada opens Olympic play against Switzerland, Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 11:10 p.m.
