SPORTS NUTRITION
- The new year is a time many athletes think about making big changes to what they eat. Rather than cutting out foods that you think are less healthy or trying crazy diets, aim to build a solid fueling plate. Each meal consider incorporating a balance of:
1. Fruit/vegetables,
2. Quality protein source (chicken, fish, beef, tofu, beans, nuts, milk, yogurt, etc.), and
3. Grain (tortilla, pasta, rice, bread, crackers, etc.).
Your meals don't have to be perfect or look like everyone else's. Your fueling strategy is unique to you and your needs! In fact, there is no "perfect" way of eating and no one way that works for everyone. Learning the foundations of a balanced plate and listening to your body are some of the best ways to start the new year!
