PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Dartmouth men's swimming and diving returned to action for the first time in a month to compete against Penn (81-219) and Yale (59-241) at the Quakers' Sherr Pool.
The Big Green had nine top-five finishes throughout the weekend.
Dartmouth's divers were up first on Friday. On the 1-meter board,
Kyle Schubert and
Jason Rickenbacher were eighth and ninth with scores of 260.55 and 204.15. On 3-meter, Schubert place seventh (262.50) and Rickenbacher followed in ninth (194.45).
On Saturday, the Green started things off with a fifth-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:35.30). Composed of Alexander Ye,
Connor Richmond,
Dylan Chan and
Taka Khoo, the relay out-touched Penn by half a second.
Isaac Weigel and Joseph Moll were third and fourth in the 200 free with times of 1:40.81 and 1:41.28. Weigel was back in the 100 free, touching in second place (45.66) and beating a swimmer from Yale by three one-hundredths of a second.
Competing in the 200 breast, Ye swam a 2:05.37 to finish fourth. The rookie was also in the 200 IM, placing fifth (1:53.59).
To end the weekend, Dartmouth came in third place in the 400 free relay (3:07.47). Made up of Moll, Weigel,
Matt Molloy and
Tim Cushman, the Big Green left over two seconds between them and Penn's relay in fourth.
The Big Green will host the Tate Ramsden Invitational on Jan. 21-22. This will be their only home meet of the 2021-22 season and will be swam in honor of their teammate who passed away in 2015. The team will also recognize its five seniors.
