HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth sailing team continued its development at three regattas in its seventh weekend of the 2022 fall season. The Big Green were in action at the Open Atlantic Coast Championship, the Oberg Trophy regatta and the Yale Women's Interconference event.
Â
The Big Green clinched a first-place finish for the third consecutive week at the Rudi Oberg Trophy event. Dartmouth navigated the Charles River well throughout the weekend, finishing first in a field of 17 programs.
Â
In "A" division competition,
Oliver Hurwitz and
Drew Clutterbuck took third place, only behind teams from Harvard and Roger Williams.
James Paul and
Caroline Oyster claimed fourth in the "B" division, while
Taylor Eastman and
Sudi Zhao closed their weekend one point behind first-place finisher Brown in the "C" division.
Â
"We rallied on Sunday to overtake Brown and win the Oberg Trophy," head coach
Justin Assad said. "This important regional trophy win is a testament to the depth on our team and we were excited to have a strong showing on the Charles."
Â
Dartmouth was also in action at the Open Atlantic Coast Championship, hosted by the Coast Guard Academy. The Big Green continued their stretch of strong performances, taking second out of a field of 18 at the showcase regatta.

Â
"We are thrilled to finish in second place at the ACC's," Assad said. "This was a dress rehearsal for the national championship in the spring. As we expected, we had all the top players in the country in New London, and Dartmouth showed that we are ready to compete for the national championship at Kings Point in May."
