OXFORD, Ohio — The Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team finished fifth in the Miami University Invitational following the end of the three-day event Saturday in Oxford, Ohio.
Miami (Ohio), the host, earned first in the rankings amongst an eight-team pool that included Dartmouth, Grand Canyon, Ball State, Bowling Green, Youngstown State, Ouachita Baptist, Ashland and Anderson.
"Our women stepped up to compete and beat teams with larger rosters, get lifetime best times and achieved numerous all-time top-10 program performances," said head coach Milana Socha. "We showed we can swim fast and dive well even when its hard. This meet gives me a lot of confidence that this group of women is poised for great performances at the end of the season."
Lindsey Drumm placed fifth in the 200 butterfly with a personal-best time of 2:04.27. She was also a member of the 400 freestyle relay team along with Mary Howley, Christina Cianciolo and Lane Murray that placed fifth with a 3:29.47 mark.
