HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth head men's lacrosse coach
Brendan Callahan announced the Big Green's 2023 schedule on Thursday, featuring 12 games – four at home and eight on the road. The nonleague slate is highlighted by a two-game trip south, featuring games against 2016 National Champion North Champion and Hampton. The season begins on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Merrimack.
Dartmouth closes out February with a trip to nearby Holy Cross the following Saturday, Feb. 25. The Big Green begin March with a home matchup against Siena out of the MAAC on Saturday, Mar. 4 before traveling to Hobart three days later.
After no games the weekend of Mar. 11 due to final exams, the Big Green travel to North Carolina to face the Tar Heels out of the ACC on Sunday, Mar. 19, before heading to Hampton in Virginia on Tuesday, Mar. 21.
All Ivy League games are set for Saturdays, with the Ivy League opener set for Mar. 25 vs. Harvard. Other league home games are Princeton on Apr. 15 and the regular season finale on Apr. 29 against Brown. Road games in the Ivy League are at Cornell (Apr. 1) and Yale (Apr. 8), along with an Apr. 22 meeting at Penn. Last season, the Big Red advanced to the National Championship Game while Princeton made the Final Four and Penn and Brown were top eight seeds in the NCAA Tournament. Harvard also qualified for the tournament as an unseeded team.
The Big Green return some impressive talent in 2023, led by first team All-Ivy faceoff specialist
Mitchell Myers, who finished tops in the league and 20th nationally in faceoff percentage last season (54.5), along with 75 groundballs. Defenseman
Andrew Johnston returns after garnering honorable mention All-Ivy.
Joe Azelby, who posted a team-high 14 caused turnovers last season returns, as does two of Dartmouth's top three scorers in
Colin McGill (33 points: 25 goals, eight assists) and
Tommy Rogan (29 points: 14 goals, 15 assists).
