FAMILIAR FOES
The Dartmouth men's hockey team plays host to UMass Lowell on Friday evening for their first game at Thompson Arena in just over a month. The Big Green travel to twin-state rival Vermont on Sunday for a tilt with the Catamounts.
Friday's game against the River Hawks is also Youth Hockey Night. There will be several giveaways during the game as well as an autograph session after the game for all fans.
LOOKING BACK TO LAST WEEKEND
Continuing its road stretch, Dartmouth fell to Colgate and Cornell this past weekend.
John Fusco scored the lone goal of the weekend for the Big Green, his first since joining Dartmouth.
Matt Hubbarde and
Jack Cameron chipped in the assists on the goal.
Cooper Black made 43 saves over the two nights.
THE STATS
Luke Haymes leads the Big Green in scoring with six goals. Six players are tied for second as
Braiden Dorfman,
Cooper Flinton,
Sean Chisholm,
Ian Pierce,
Trym Løkkeberg and Hubbarde each have two.
Tanner Palocsik has a team-high six assists while
Cam MacDonald and Hubbarde both have four.
Tyler Campbell, Fusco, Dorfman, and Flinton all have three apiece.
Defensively, Dartmouth has blocked 113 shots this season, led by
Joey Musa and Cameron, who each have 11. Fusco has 10 and
Sean Keohan has eight.
Black has started all 10 games between the pipes and has made 260 saves while allowing 26 goals for a save percentage of .909.
SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL
UMass Lowell enters the weekend with a 9-6-1 record. The River Hawks are ranked 14
th in the latest DCU/USCHO national poll. They played to a 1-1 tie with Massachusetts on Saturday before picking up a win in the shootout, 2-0.
Carl Berglund has a team-high seven goals. Zach Kaiser is right behind with six while Scout Truman has five. Jon McDonald leads the team in assists with eight. Brian Chambers, Owen Cole and Isac Jonsson each have seven.
Henry Welsch and Gustavs Davis Grigals have split time in net for the River Hawks this season. They have combined to make 414 saves, allowed 30 goals and have a combined save percentage of .932.
ALL-TIME AGAINST THE RIVER HAWKS
The Big Green are 3-7-0 all-time against the River Hawks. The two teams played each other just a couple of weeks ago in the consolation game of the Friendship Four. In the high-scoring tilt, UMass Lowell took a 4-3 win in overtime at the SSE Arena.
Dartmouth is looking for its first win in the series since a 10-2 win at Thompson Arena on December 29, 2002.
SCOUTING VERMONT
Vermont enters Sunday's game with a 5-11-1 record. The Catamounts fell to Maine, 5-1, in their last outing on Saturday.
There is a four-way tie at the top for goals scored as Jacques Bouquot, Will Zapernick, Joel Määttä and Carter Long all have three apiece. Eric Gotz and Bouquot each have six assists while Isak Walther has five.
Gabe Carriere has played the majority of minutes in net for the Catamounts, making 349 saves while allowing 32 goals for a save percentage of .916.
ALL-TIME AGAINST THE CATAMOUNTS
The Big Green are 26-53-7 all-time against the Catamounts and 7-27-4 on the road. Vermont defeated Dartmouth, 3-2, last season at Thompson Arena.
Dartmouth is looking for its first win in the series since a 4-2 victory on home ice in 2012, and for its first win at Vermont since 2007 when the Big Green defeated the Catamounts by a score of 4-2.
