SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — The Dartmouth men's hockey team dropped their regular finale, 3-2, in overtime to Union in ECAC Hockey action on Saturday evening at Messa Rink.

Dartmouth moves to 6-20-3, 5-15-2 while Union improves to 12-17-4, 9-11-2.

Steven Townley scored for the second straight night while
Braiden Dorfman scored his seventh goal of the season.
Tanner Palocsik picked up his 13
th assist of the season.

Clay Stevenson finished with 36 saves. The Dartmouth defense blocked 12 shots.

It was a scoreless first period, with the Dutchmen holding the shooting advantage, 15-9.
Clay Stevenson had 15 saves in the opening period and 12 by the first media timeout. Union went on the power play early and Stevenson stopped eight shots during the two-minute spell.

Union took the lead midway through the second period after scoring a shirt-handed goal. Brandon Estes made a long pass through the Dartmouth defense to Owen Farris who was able to put it past Stevenson for the 1-0 lead.

The Dutchmen added to their lead at the 16:46 mark in the third period.

The Big Green answered by scoring two extra attacker goals in the final 2:21 to tie things up.
Braiden Dorfman cut into the deficit after a snipe from the left side.
Tanner Palocsik played the puck to
Ian Pierce who set up Dorfman for the finish and seventh of the season.

Dartmouth tied it up with just under a minute to go.
Sam Hesler found
Steven Townley with a great opportunity in front of goal and Townley made no mistake, burying it for his second goal in as many nights.

Union scored an empty net winner with 1:15 remaining in overtime to take two points, with the Big Green taking one.

After tonight's results across the league, the Big Green finished 11
th in the ECAC Hockey standings. Dartmouth was tied on points (21) with Yale, but take the tiebreaker in the head-to-head matchup.

Dartmouth is back in action next weekend in the first round of the ECAC Hockey tournament. The Big Green will travel to RPI for a best-of-three series. The games will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet. Information on live stats and tickets will be available in the coming days.
