COUNSELING & SPORT PSYCHOLOGY

- Counseling services are available for all enrolled students through the Dartmouth Counseling Center by calling (603) 646-9442 to set up an appointment. Check out our website for apps and other useful resources to support mental health.
SPORTS NUTRITION
- Are you reaching for caffeine to help you get through finals? Aim to balance your intake of caffeine with food, water, time outside and sleep. Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant and in moderation, can improve your alertness. Too much can make you jittery, restless and unproductive! Top picks for athletes? Coffee, tea and NSF certified products (these are products that do not have banned ingredients in them).
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
- Neck strength is primary contributor to an athlete's resistance to a concussion. For every one-pound increase in neck strength, odds of concussion decrease by 5%. This is especially important for contact sports like football, ice hockey, rugby, etc. Training the neck to both create movement and resist movement (Dynamic vs Holds) in all variations on motion (Rotation, Tilt, Flex & Extend) will ensure the neck is prepared to withstand different scenarios.
YOGA & MINDFULNESS

- Survey on understanding the impact one's role has on their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions during their sport performance. - Survey on the psychological impacts of sport injury on female collegiate athletes
- Survey on the role of identity, motivation, and satisfaction on student-athlete mental well-being
