SARASOTA, Fla. – Dartmouth women's rowing had a successful trip to Florida for the two-day Big Ten Invitational, racing each of its four boats three times throughout the weekend.

Friday AM
A second-place finish in the second flight of the 2V4 started the weekend off on a strong note. Coxed by
Sonya Danchak and stroked by
Morgan Kendall, the Big Green completed the course in 7:56.08, less than four seconds behind winning Indiana and two seconds ahead of Michigan State.

Dartmouth was fourth in flight two of the V8 (6:47.99), finishing a few seconds behind Michigan State in third but ahead of three of the teams in the first flight. The Green placed third in the 2V8 flight two (6:54.48), leaving less than three seconds between them and MSU in fourth. In the last race of the morning session, Dartmouth came in second place in the V4 second flight (7:51.96), finishing just four seconds behind Indiana.

A few hours later, the Big Green were back for more. The 2V4 was fourth (8:10.13), as was the V8 (6:51.45) that raced soon after.

Dartmouth's 2V8, coxed by
Aarushi Jain and stroked by
Jenna Martin, saw half a second improvement from the morning and finished third in 6:53.77, coming in eight seconds ahead of Minnesota. The V4 dropped 14 seconds to come in second in its flight (7:37.58), beating Washington State by two ticks.

Saturday AM
Every Dartmouth boat saw improvement in the final session, with the morning being highlighted by a first-place finish in the 2V8. The boat crossed the line with a time of 6:43.42, edging Iowa by less than a second.

The Big Green were third in the 2V4 (7:33.64), while the V8 came fourth in 6:43.34, finishing five seconds after Michigan State. The V4 was the last race of the day, and Dartmouth came in second place (7:30.85), coming in a second after Iowa.

The Green will be back in action next weekend against Cornell and Brown.
