AMHERST,
Mass. — The Dartmouth men's track and field team finished first at the UMass Pre-Conference meet on Saturday.
The Big Green won the meet with 130 points. UMass Amherst (108.25) took second followed by Maine (104.25) in third.
The meet kicked off Friday with the hammer throw. The Big Green took first, second, and fourth, led by
Jake Dalton (58.03m), followed by
Myles Schreck (56.74m) and
Drew Palermo (54.74m).
Rahul Batlanki jumped a personal best 7.16m in the long jump, taking second. In the 1500m race,
Thomas Lingard finished second with a time of 3:49.12, and not too far behind was
Maclean Hadden, who took fourth with a time of 3:49.81.
Michael Walkosz ran the 400m in 50.42 to take fourth.
Jason Wang cruised to a win in the 3000m steeplechase, winning by more than 45 seconds.
Eric Gibson and
Jacob Winslow finished first and third in the 800m. Gibson ran for a time of 1:51.14 while Winslow ran the race in 1:54.64.
Myles Epstein raced to win the 100m dash and the 200m dash. His time of 10.56 in the 100m dash moves him up to ninth on the Ivy League performance list.
Justin Stevens finished second in the 400m hurdles with a season best time of 55.59, putting him 10
th in the Ancient Eight.
Dartmouth will head to the Ivy League Championships next weekend, hosted by Yale.
