NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Dartmouth sailing team competed at the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Team Race National Championship on Tuesday, hosted by Tulane in New Orleans, La.
The Big Green sent out skippers
Boyd Bragg,
Maddie Hawkins,
Will Michels, and
James Paul and crews
Eloise Burn,
Reese Bragg,
Yumi Yoshiyasu, and
Aisling Sullivan.
"We had some big wins that we are proud of," said head coach
Justin Assad. "We had a number of different athletes step in and play today. It's super hot down here and really demanding conditions."
"We're really proud of the way they sailed and how hard we worked to get to this regatta."
Dartmouth finished Day 2 with a 5-5 record, picking up wins over Navy (1-4-5), Charleston (1-2-5), St. Mary's (1-2-5), UC Santa Barbara (1-2-5), and Wisconsin (1-2-3).
The Big Green finished with a 7-8 overall record, taking 10
th place.
Dartmouth will be off Wednesday before competing in the College Sailing Open Western Semifinal on Thursday and Friday.
