Myles Schreck and junior
Jake Dalton of the Dartmouth men's track and field team will compete at the NCAA East Regional on Wednesday.
The NCAA East Regional will be held at the University of Indiana's Haugh Track & Field Complex.
Schreck and Dalton will both compete in the hammer throw, scheduled to begin at 10 AM on Wednesday.
Athletes who rank among the top 48 in their respective event earn a berth into the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds. In addition, the best 24 relays times advance to the NCAA preliminaries. All 48 competitors will compete in the preliminary rounds, with the top 24 advancing to the semifinals. Athletes with the top 12 times/marks and the best 12 relay times will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Schreck enters Wednesday No. 36 on the regional performance list. He earns his berth after a personal-best throw of 61.72m, 10
th best in program history, earlier this season at the FSU Relays. Schreck recently finished third in the event at the Ivy League Championships and the New England Championships.
Dalton enters the event at No. 30. His throw of 62.27m, seventh all-time in program history, at the Ocean State Invitational in April earns him a spot in the field on Wednesday. He recently took second at the Ivy League Championships and the New England Championships.
