SPORTS NUTRITION
- Eating should be enjoyable and relaxing. Aim to have at least one meal a day with friends or teammates for connection. Eating in a relaxed, non-rushed way helps you to feel satisfied and content, rather than stressed and frazzled.
COUNSELING & SPORT PSYCHOLOGY
- Scheduling a first appointment? Book a counseling or counseling & sport psychology appointment through the student health portal.
- Counseling services are available for all enrolled students through the Dartmouth Counseling Center by calling (603) 646-9442 to set up an appointment. If you are in crisis or concerned about an enrolled student, you can reach the on-call counselor 24/7 by calling (603) 646-9442 and following the prompts to access the on-call team. Check out our website for apps and other useful resources to support mental health.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
Sleep is one of our biggest challenges every term, and particularly as we get into finals. We know that sleep is a key component to performance in sport and in the classroom as well as a foundation or mental health.
HERE is a great article by the National Sleep Foundation for students with some good links and tips for how to manage sleep during finals including:
Use your naps as a study break
Try to follow a regular sleep schedule
Make your sleeping space as cool, dark, and quiet as possible
Try to make your bed as comfortable as possible for you
Try to turn your phone off 30 to 60 minutes before going to sleep
Exercise daily
Be careful with caffeine and alcohol

SPORTS MEDICINE
- Seniors – Are you graduating this term?
- There are some important things you should know!
· Don't be surprised if you are asked to pay for some Health Service services up front between now and the end of term. The Health Service is no longer able to post charges to your student account/DA$H after May 15. Please visit the Patient Accounts web page for more information on Health Service billable services.
· Health Service eligibility expires on June 23, and after that date, you cannot be seen at the Health Service.
· June 23 is also the date that Sports Medicine coverage ends for graduated students.
· Students with the Dartmouth Student Group Health Plan can use their insurance locally and off campus through the end of August!
- Here are some important things you can do now:
· Schedule a visit with your athletic trainer to discuss a plan for continued rehab through the summer. Do you need a home exercise program or PT referral?
· Do you need a copy of your immunizations or other medical records for a new job, grad school, or to establish care with a new doctor's office? You can obtain those any time by submitting a release of information form to the Medical Records office at the Health Service.
· Follow-up with the pharmacy or your medical providers about any prescriptions that may need a refill before the end of summer. Need to transfer your prescription to a new pharmacy? Find refill and transfer information here.
· Don't have a copy of your Dartmouth Student Group Health Plan card? Email DSGHP for instructions on how to obtain a copy of your ID card and visit the DSGHP site for information on how to find in-network providers.
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
- Summer is the largest block of training time without competition or sport coach oversight. It is a critical time to enhance athletic qualities to enhance sport skills. Find balance between both and stay healthy!
YOGA & MINDFULNESS
- In-Person Balance & Flow Yoga – Mondays 5:30 - 6:30 PM. Reserve your spot here:
Tucker Meditation Room (201 N Fairbanks)
- Schedule a Wellness Check-In, complete the Wellness on Campus survey, or borrow a Sun Lamp to boost sleep and fight depression
