Stacey wins her third-straight international gold medal

HANOVER, N.H. — Laura Stacey '16 captured a gold medal as a member of Team Canada at the 2022 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women's World Championship in Denmark.
The Mississauga, Ontario native has collected gold on the international stage three times in just over a calendar year. Prior to this year's Women's Worlds, Team Canada won the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship in August of last year, followed by a golden run at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics this past February.
Stacey and the Canadians capped off its historic run with a 2-1 victory over the United States on September 4 in the gold medal game at KVIK Hockey Arena in Herning, Denmark. With this win, Team Canada captured back-to-back golds at the IIHF Women's Worlds for the first time since 2000-01.

Since graduating from Dartmouth College in 2016, Stacey has been a staple on Team Canada's roster at international tournaments. She has been featured on four IIHF Women's World Championship rosters and is a two-time Olympian.
During her time at Dartmouth, Stacey collected numerous ECAC Hockey and Ivy League accolades from 2012-16. She was named a First-Team All-Ivy League selection following her senior year and was named the program's most valuable player and offensive most valuable player after leading the Big Green with 23 points. She served as the team's captain during her final season in Hanover.
Following her freshman campaign in 2012-13, Stacey earned ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team honors and was a finalist for the league's Rookie of the Year award.
