HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's hockey team scored twice in the final few minutes, but Cornell held on to take the victory, 3-2, in ECAC Hockey and Ivy League action on Friday evening at Thompson Arena. The Big Green move to 4-16-1, 3-10-1 while the Cornell improves to 13-6-1, 10-3-0.

Sean Chisholm both scored for the Big Green while Tanner Palocsik, John Fusco, and Joey Musa each had one assist. Cooper Black finished with 35 saves in goal. Dartmouth blocked 15 shots, led by Fusco and Musa, who each had three.

Sam Malinski and Max Andreev both had one goal and one assist for the Big Red while Kyle Penney scored the other goal. Dalton Bancroft finished with two assists.

After going down 3-0 in the second period, the late surge from the Big Green started just after the midway point of the third period. With just under seven minutes to go in the third period, Chisholm knocked down a Cornell skater, and skated his way towards the Big Red goal before firing off a shot that went top shelf past Cornell goaltender Ian Shane to put the Big Green on the board.

Dartmouth put the pressure on as time ran down, pulling Black in the final couple of minutes to go with the extra attacker. The advantage paid off with 90 seconds remaining as Krause scored his third goal of the season. Fusco ripped a pass towards goal to a perfect-positioned Krause just outside the crease for the redirect into the back of the net.

The Big Green continued with the extra attacker in search of the equalizer to complete the comeback. Dartmouth nearly tied the game with just 30 seconds to go but Shane made an out-stretched pad save to keep Cornell in the lead as they held on for the win.

The Big Red scored twice inside the opening 10 minutes, including once on the power play, to take an early 2-0 lead. They added to the lead midway through the second period with their second power play goal of the game.

Dartmouth is back in action tomorrow night with an ECAC Hockey matchup against Colgate. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet. Tomorrow's game is presented by Cardigan Mountain School. During the game, Dartmouth will celebrate long-time coach and Big Green alum Bob Gaudet '81.
