HANOVER, N.H. — Highlighted by a strong effort at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship Finals, the Dartmouth sailing team impressed in four separate races over the weekend. The Big Green also came in ninth at the Captain Hurst Bowl, fifth at Peak Foliage and sixth and eighth at the Savin Hill Invite.
In the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship, the Big Green finished sixth of 18 teams overall, highlighted by
Maddie Hawkins,
Lilly Baker and
Maddie Hughes finishing third in the "A" division. They finished top eight in 11 of the 12 races, including a first, second, two thirds and a fourth-place finish.
Dartmouth also took part in the Captain Hurst Bowl, which ran Saturday and Sunday, seeing the Big Green finish ninth out of 16 teams. In the "B" division, Dartmouth's team of
Ryan Satterberg and
Madeline Koelbel came in sixth, which included finishing in the top five in five of 12 races.
The Big Green also took part in two other events on Saturday, finishing fifth of 16 teams at Peak Foliage hosted by the University of New Hampshire. Dartmouth also placed sixth and eighth of 17 teams at the Savin Hall Invite hosted by Boston College. The Big Green impressed in the "B" division, with the team of Ben Sheppard and
Sudi Zhao tying for first, while the team of
Ava Hurwitz and
Vivian Heitkoetter placed sixth.
