Dartmouth jumped two spots after its win over Sweet Briar
HANOVER, N.H. — Following its big win over previously second-ranked Sweet Briar on Saturday, the Dartmouth equestrian team jumped from No. 4 to No. 2 in this week's NCEA Single Discipline Poll, as announced on Tuesday. The Big Green tied Sweet Briar 4-4, but won due to an overall total points advantage of 632-619.
Two-time defending single discipline national champion Lynchburg remains at No. 1 in this week's poll. After Dartmouth is Sweet Briar (3), Sacred Heart (4) and Berry College (5).
First year Samantha Takacs shined against Sweet Briar, winning her point in both the flat and fences. She was Most Outstanding Player over fences after winning her point, 86-72. Takacs was also named Dartmouth Athletics' Female Athlete of the Week. The Big Green's other points were won by senior Abby Niles over fences and first year Cassidy Exner on the flat.
The Big Green return to action on Sunday, Nov. 5 when they take on Bridgewater at 11 a.m.
