Dartmouth Trounces Princeton in Historic Fashion to Cap Regular Season

The Big Green scored a program-record 115 points to gear up for the NIRA Playoffs
PRINCETON, N.J. — The Dartmouth women's rugby team put up a program-best 115 points, scoring in the triple digits for the second time in program history, in a dominant 108-point road victory over Princeton on Saturday afternoon.
The Big Green finish the regular season at 5-2 overall and 4-1 in the NIRA, riding a two-match win streak into the playoffs, which begin with a semifinal matchup against Quinnipiac. The Tigers, still looking for their first varsity win, saw their season end with an 0-6 mark.
Dartmouth had a 67-0 lead at halftime and cleared 100 points for the first time since Sept. 24, 2016 (a 110-0 win over Columbia) with Hannah Maccarone's try late in the second half. 14 different players scored for the Big Green, and Sadie Schier and Cassie Depner led the way, both with hat tricks.
Princeton faced a 72-0 deficit before scoring its first try, which came from Malinka Kwemo. The match finished with first career tries from recent Dartmouth roster additions Kellie Miller and Joanie Wood. First-year Katie Hansen also scored her first career try in the second half.
Following the 115-7 trouncing, the second largest margin of victory in program history, Dartmouth is set to square off with Quinnipiac for a second time this season in a NIRA semifinal matchup on Saturday, Nov. 11. The winner will head to Harvard for the NIRA final on Saturday, Nov. 18. The Big Green defeated Quinnipiac, 47-10, in the home opener on Sept. 23. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+ and kick-off time is still to be determined.
