PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team squared off with Brown and Princeton to begin its 2023-24 season on Saturday at Brown's Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. The Big Green fell 208-92 to Brown and 221-79 to Princeton.

"This meet really shows the momentum we are building as we outdid our performance from last year across the board," said head coach
Milana Socha. "Our first-year women really brought the fire, led by
Jamieson Legh with two wins. It was a great way to kick off our season and now we get back to work to keep building for the next meet."

Legh, making her collegiate debut, gave the Big Green a win over Brown in the 200 fly with a time of 2:00.05 and also defeated Princeton in the 100 fly after a 55.12 mark. Both times rank among the top-five in program history.

Fellow first-year
Kathy Jia also contributed a win over Princeton, registering a time of 1:04.18 in the 100 breast and quickly cracking the program's all-time top 10. Another first-year
Carinn Bethea, rounded out Dartmouth's victories having topped Princeton in the 500 free (4:57.73).

Vivian Mudry, who also made her debut on Saturday, earned a collegiate best in 100 breast with a time of 1:05.78.

Alyssa Palacios placed fourth on the 1-meter board at 252.35. On the 3-meter board,
Maggie Lambdin led the Big Green after scoring a 246.15, landing her in sixth.

Ivy League action continues next weekend as Dartmouth travels to Cambridge to face Harvard and Cornell on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.
