OXFORD, OHIO — Returning to the pool for the first time since Nov. 11, the Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team opened the Miami Invitational on Thursday against a variety of opponents, including Indiana State, Ashland, Grand Canyon, Miami (Ohio), Youngstown State, Denison, Indiana and Anderson.

Following Thursday's events, Dartmouth ranks third with 193 points behind Miami (Ohio) (224) and Grand Canyon (362).

Tommy Erwin highlighted the opening day, winning the 500 free with a time of 4:28.27.
Yan Dvoretskiy also had a strong showing in the event with his fifth-place finish in the A final (4:32.74).

William McClelland placed fifth in the A final of the 50 free with a time of 20.68 seconds.

Aryeh Lesch led the Big Green in the lone diving event, placing third on the 1-meter board after earning a 293.25.

The Miami Invitational continues for Day Two on Friday before concluding on Saturday.
