OXFORD, OHIO — With the final day of the Miami Invitation in the books, the Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team finished second with 906 points behind only Grand Canyon. The Big Green were third after Thursday's events before using a productive Friday to jump into second.
The Big Green finished fifth at the Miami Invitational in 2022 and this year's second-place finish comes with a significant improvement in total points. Miami (Ohio) and Youngstown State rounded out the top half of the team rankings.
"Scoring over 350 points more than last year was a whole team effort," said head coach
Milana Socha. "We had some impressive lifetime bests, saw some people do some pretty challenging doubles, and our divers really stepped up. Now it's back to the grind for the next phase of training to keep building for Ivy League Championships."
Â
Tommy Erwin, one of the key contributors for the Big Green across the three-day affair, was able to place second in the 1650 free with a time of 15:45.38.
Â
Andy Peterson and Wallace Reed also contributed podium finishes. Peterson did so with a third-place finish in the 200 back (1:47.67) and Reed was third in the 200 back (1:48.84).
Â
Everett Tai had an event victory to his credit, winning the platform dive with a score of 290.10.

Dartmouth is back in action on Sunday, Dec. 17 to compete in the CSCAA Open Water Nationals in Florida. Fans will be able to catch the Big Green at Karl Michael Pool shortly after the new year when they host Bates on Saturday, Jan. 6.
