PROVIDENCE, R.I. — With the final day of competition in the books, the Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team placed eighth at the 2023 Ivy League Championships at Brown in a four-day meet that featured a number of historic performances for the Big Green.
Harvard won the championship while Princeton and Yale followed in second and third, respectively.
"Our team stepped up and had some phenomenal performances this weekend," said head coach
Milana Socha. "One team relay record, 23 new entries into the all-time top-10 list, all first-year divers scoring points and an incredibly high percentage of lifetime bests. They had great energy all week, focused on their teammates, and our senior leaders really set a great tone. I'm very proud of how they did at this year's championship."
Dartmouth's 200 free relay team set a program record on Thursday and another Big Green relay team narrowly missed another record This time it was the 400 free relay with
Tim Park,
Tim Cushman,
Alexander Ye and
Joe Moll posting a time of 2:58.82 in the championship's final event and ranking second in program history.
Earlier, Moll appeared in the 200 back B final and swam a 1:45.21, tying Princeton's Billy Swartwout for 11th.
Taka Khoo, who placed 22nd (1:52.99) was another Big Green finalist in the 200 back.
Yan Dvoretskiy competed in the 200 fly B final and placed 12th with a time of 1:46.47, while Park swam a 1:47.89 in the C final to place 18th.
Dartmouth also landed two finalists in the 200 breast. Ye placed 19th (1:59.59) and
Josh Wolfson was 21st (2:00.59).
Everett Tai placed 12th on the 3-meter board, registering a score of 317.
