HANOVER, N.H. — Senior
Tim Park of the Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team was named as one of eight members of the Ivy League's Academic All-Ivy team, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.
Â
Academic All-Ivy designation is given to student-athletes (juniors or seniors) who made significant contributions to their respective teams while maintaining good academic standing.
Â
Park, a mathematics and philosophy major from Closter, New Jersey, recently helped Dartmouth achieve a new program record in the 200 free relay on the second day of the Ivy League Championships. He, along with
Tim Cushman,
Colton Rasmussen and
Joe Moll, raced to a 1:20.49 mark, topping the previous program-best time set in the 2015-16 season.
Â
Park won the 100 free and the 200 fly in the final meet of the regular season against Columbia and notched a first-place finish in the 100 free during the Tate Ramsden Invitational, plus a victory over Yale and Penn in the 200 free a week prior. He ranks as one of Dartmouth's all-time top-10 performers in the 100 free, 200 free and 200 fly in addition to several historic relay performances.
